  1. Lets pledge not to litter. A small effort from our side can too make a difference.

As of me, I specifically try not to take polybags from anywhere. So whenever I go out, I carry one with me -- in case I decide to shop something, I can say no to a new polybag.

Secondally, I don't throw anything outside the dustbin...including toffee wrapers, bus tickets, ice creame sticks, paper plates...anything.

Dehi is my city & its my duty to keep it clean....that's what I believe in!!! what about you?

  2. There are many ways! The Delhi Govt. can do something on the lines of the Singapore Govt. or something they can relate to back home (Chandigarh, Bangalore, etc!)

First and foremost, London has Congestion Charging & Environmental Tax, i.e., Taxes on cars in a particular area, thats what Delhi can do to open up spaces. Then, plant trees and stuff like that. Use machines and trucks to clean the roads (have seen these huge machines in London, Singapore and again, back in Chandigarh too!)

Stop the use of plastic in the city! This works the best. Install Bins all over the city, in every nook and corner possible. And HEAVY charges/fining for people who defacate/urinate/spit/throw garbage in public places. Get the private sector to help in! The Government cannot do everything alone :P (as if they do everything! :P ) Hehe!!

Man. I like Delhi a lot, but its getting dirtier by the day and something HAS to be done! The general public can contribute money and then do *SOME* of the above mentioned things, such as bins installation, posters, awareness camps, etc. I do hope New Delhi becomes as clean as the many "foreign" cities and becomes truly a World City as soon as possible! :)

  3. We have more love & pride where we live in now.

For our decendante, we have to keep in mind that the delhi is going to be the best city in the world.

  4. instead of asking like this try to bring it in the media...

  5. take some ideas from banglore government or dude!

ask ur government to take some steps to help in decreasing the population
