  1. self training is difficult at times due to staying motivated and I understand the money side as I'm in that situation myself at the moment but if you have a good understanding of your art/s you can use DVDs,video etc to help retain your knowledge also don't forget using your imagination and visualisation drills techniques also you can run, skip rope and use improvised materials to strike etc or just change to another style that suits your finances which maybe cheaper and closer to home as to avoid travel costs and if you can find a style that lets you pay as you go then even better, well that's my attitude at the moment.

Hope this helps, good luck and Best wishes :)***

  2. don't take all three, take a martial art like sambo or krav maga that does both striking and grappling.  or join a mixed martial arts gym, dues are normally 100 to 150 dollars a month.

  3. I sugest 2 continue with the already knowned moves, u can practise at ur school;s gym

  4. buy a punching bag and kicking bag.And shadow box.

  5. buy a punch bag 120 kg it will destroy your fists and leave your kicks elbows and knees occupied believe me you will want to take on a new sport cause you wont probably be able to handle it

  6. there are some martial artist that punch walls the put a folded newspaper over the point they are punching, it strenghtens their hands, you could try the same with out palms, elbow knee ball and heel of your foot

to strenghten the top of you foot put a pole in the floor and tape some thin foam to the bottom of it and kick it , start gental and then get harder other wise you will make the top of your foot swell and it will be really painfull to walk.

read books to try to help you with the stuff you already know but note you shouldnt really on the teach you new things they are only supposed to supliment your learning , but in your case you could maintain/ increase you knowlegde slightly this way

the reason i say that is if you read something and miss interperate it you could start becoming worse at your style of fighting

  7. There was a time when I didn't have financial means to train under an instructor.  I bought a used heavy bag (grab a newspaper or look in online classifieds and you'll probably find one) and worked on my punches, elbows and kicks, footwork, and striking range.  You can also take it off the hook and use it as a grappling dummy for ground strikes and core training.  And you may be surprised how effective good old shadow boxing is if you can video tape yourself.  Watch yourself and see what you need to work on.  You can make big improvements in balance, footwork, and agility that way.

You could also try to find a friend who studies a different art - I was lucky enough to have a friend who was studying Aikido when I couldn't afford an instructor.  I taught what I knew, and learned from him, and we both benefited from training together.

Tell your instructor about your situation, and maybe he'll work something out with you.  If you can't work anything out there, try to hook up with someone who will train with you until your monetary situation improves.
