Question:

What to do w/old tiffanys jewelry?

I recently broke up with my long term boyfriend and during the relationship, he gave me some nice Tiffany's jewelry. However, now that we are broken up, I would prefer not to wear it because it reminds me too much of him so I would like to find a way to get rid of it. However, it is Tiffany's so its worth a decent amount of money and I don't really like the idea of bringing it to a pawn shop. Would regular jewelry stores be able to melt it down (its sterling silver) and maybe make something new out of it? Does Tiffany's take back old jewelry? I am unsure of my options- if anyone has any good advice, please let me know.

  1. why don't you just give it back to your ex?

  2. Give it to me. :D

  3. One step better than a pawn shop would be to sell at at a jewelry store on consignment. That way you'll get what it's worth.

If you have had it appraised, then you could sell it on ebay.

You could have it smelted and made into something new, but it would still remind you of your old boyfriend so why would you want that?

  4. Have you seen this site? You could try selling it here:

I doubt Tiffany's will take back worn jewelry.

I would suggest finding a jewelry maker (not a jewelry store) in your city to consult with the possibility of making new jewelry.
