What to do when an elderly man keeps rubbing against you?

He "accidentally" touches my butt and chest.

He's pretty old and feeble. Would you just let him get away with it? Seems like it's getting worse.

I am assuming that you have to be around this older gentleman often enough to not just ignore it. I think you should tell him repeatedly to stop it. Sometimes as people get older they are more "child" like and sometimes you have to "treat them as such". I don't mean time outs and spankings of course but repeat, repeat, repeat as necessary. If you have to see him in a work capacity (in a nursing home situation or hospital) I would talk to your supervisor to see the policy regarding such matters. I'm sure this isn't the first time they've dealt with friskiness of an older person.

Tell him when he does that, that you do not like that and that he is going past boundaries that he must try not to do.  Also, you can just tell him when you need to get near him to keep his hands on his knees, etc.

Something similar happened to me back in 1985. I took a 2 hour bus ride and this very old man sat next to me. He slept the whole time, but when we got to the final stop, all of a sudden he rubbed my leg in a very creepy way and it took me by surprise and I yelled, "You do that again and I will slug you". He just laughed and all the idiots on the bus looked at me like I was crazy. People are so blind and ignorant.

Simply tell him to stop touching you, explain that you do not like being touched there, and if he does it again notify someone with authority that you are being sexually harrassed (you might get some money).

I have had similar experience and you are going to have say something.

He is relying on the fact that he is old and you are not willing to make a fuss because he is a feeble old man.

You have to look him in the eye and say politely and firmly I would like my own space please. I don't like being touched even accidentally.

That covers both scenarios whether deliberate or accidental and you have remained polite but let him know in no uncertain terms that he has crossed the line.

You have the right to be comfortable and not have anyone abuse your trust.
