What to do when driving a car you get hit by a thunderstorm and there is a tornado watch?

  1. go to the closes place there is thats big most likely they will have tornado shelters or ask them where one is

You should avoid driving into heavy rain, if it all possible.  You may quickly find yourself in large hail and strong winds and have your car destroyed.  Otherwise listen to the radio, which will tell you where any tornadoes have been spotted so that you can avoid them.  They're especially dangerous at night because you can't see them.

    I really don't like driving on an interstate toward the location of a tornado, because on interstates you can't turn around and there are few exits.

    Mostly you need to stay alert.

  3. remember, a tornado WATCH means conditions are conducive to tornado development, a tornado WARNING means there is a tornadic signature indicated on radar or one has been spotted on the ground by public.  As long as it's only a watch, you're fine, just head towards a safe structure IN CASE it becomes a warning.
