What to do when falling for your best mates sister?

I've liked my best mates sister for about 4 years and never really wanted do do anything about it because it my best mates sister. But about a year ago my feelings were getting too strong and i had to do something. So i spoke to my best mate and he was cool about it all and told me that she said that she could see us being together for a couple of years. I asked her out but she said no because there is 4 years age gap (shes 18 and i'm 22) and because i'm at uni and she's finishing year 12 this year and it would be hard. Is that a genuine reason or a way of letting me down easy?

We are still really good mates but still find myself not being able get close to another girl because i can't stop thinking about her. What do i do?

  1. shes in the last year of hs and probably doesnt have enough confidence to hang out with older guy.

so u have to take it slowly.

if u really like her, then u should trust her reason.

  2. I suppose it's a nice way of letting you easy although I'm having trouble understanding her reasons (4 years isn't that much).

It's good to hear that you're both still mates as that doesn't happen very often.

You just gotta tell yourself that it's her loss and try to move on.
