There are fact that you need to consider  when the wedding is and if he will still be in there by then and how ill he is. If he isnt  too bad is it possible for day relaease or if possible the bride could pop in to hospital so he can still her  see her on her day. All the best.

how serious is his condition? will he make it for the wedding on schedule maybe he will just need to take it easy and use a wheelchair? you could decorate it in wedding colors if that's not manly enough you could use black and silver that will look sharp....is he going in for a fairly safe procedure but wont be out in time i would consider post phoning the wedding (if the father was close to the bride) if its i dire situation if i was the bride i would scape the ceremony all together and get married next to my fathers bedside (again if they have a good father daughter relationship and their close at all) i hope everything works out for you and that her dad makes a full recovery and can be their for his daughter on this special day good luck and congratulations on the wedding
