This is a good site for locating events going on in Italy. http://www.finesettimana.it/ It's in Italian, but not too difficult to work out. Just enter the month and the region of Italy to get a list of the events. You can also select the type of event to narrow it down a bit.

Another good site for identifying events going on is: http://www.whatsonwhen.com/sisp/index.ht...

    June events:

One of the best events is the San Gimignano Medieval Festival. http://www.sangimignano.com/manif00i.htm... Another really good event is the Giostra (Joust) in Arezzo. http://www.lagiostradelsaracino.it/. A similar event is the Niballo Palio di Faenza http://www.racine.ravenna.it/niballo/

There are also St John's Day celebrations in several places, the Cornetto Free Music Festival, and tons of food festivals.

If you're in Italy in July, the Il Redentore celebration in Venice includes an excellent fireworks display over the lagoon.
