  1. Enroll in music classes in school to show them your serious.  Do lots of school competition's. Join a church choir.  Also keep all your grades up so they can't say that you're a slacker.  They can only  tell you that your not going to be a singer, they can't make you do anything. They can however not pay for your college if you don't choose a major profession, or they might not give you any money for allowance. So make sure you do well in school. Get an education so you can support yourself while you work for your dream.

Can you write songs, if you can try to get a song recorded and post it on Itunes or U-tube.  Get your name out there. (Do this with your own money, don't ask for your parents money for this).

I don't know if you have some s****. parents who won't accept anything less than a doctor or a lawyer.  It might be hard living with them right now, but they will always be there.

You will want to have a relationship with them later in your life.   Relax and work hard for what you want.

  2. Its very hard and demanding to make a profession out of singing.  I am not a singer but just watch what they go through on American Idol.  Just because you want a singing career, doesn't mean you can have one.  You have to be exceptionally talented, and/or really smart.  Its best to have a plan "B" to fall back on. So pick a second career choice and educate yourself in that field while you pursue your singing career.  Maybe if you come up with something acceptable, your parents will support your choices.

  3. rebel!

if you really love it, i think you should go for it.

you might change your mind when you are older though. how old are you? but it's possible..

but for now.. i think you should continue wanting to be a singer.. and do well in school!

  4. Its easy than you think it is, just sit them down and talk to them in a very mature way saying no matter what I'm going to sing no matter what you say and just do what ever you have to do to become a singer.

  5. First, parents are everything for you. Respect your parents. Think that they are your God. They are telling you to be doctor. There must be a reason for that. They want to tell everyone "hey, my child is a doctor, huh!" Just think that how much they love you.

But yea, if you are really good at singing, show your parents that you can sing very good, and explain them that it's better for you to become a singer rather than to become a doctor. Don't argue with them. Just simply explain. Always remember, they are your God, don't hurt them in their mind. I hope you liked my answer.

  6. it depends how old you are. if you are about to go to college, then you should definitely tell me them that you are not interested and how are you going to be successful with your job if you don't enjoy it?

  7. sit down and really explain that they can't choose what you want to be and that you have a passion for something else

  8. keep your options open. you don't have to choose yet. they'll take you more seriously the older you get. don't slack with your singing or your school.
