Question:

What to do when you start feeling really bad about yourself.

Sometimes I get really bad thoughts about myself and I don't know how to handle them. I feel like I am just in everyone's way. And that I cause all the problems in their lives. I just feel liek I annoy everyone and stress them out. I don't try to but it just feels like that.

Any advice?

  2. When you feel like that, do something to busy your mind, something physical, like a walk to get a change of scenery. Try breathing deeply when you walk, as it increases brain cells, which combat those moods.

       If your in high school, your moods are not so uncommon. But train yourself to fight those thoughts, by having your mind yell no, the minute they start to creep in. They are useless and self destructive in nature. Nor do you need to let them in, it is all up too you.

       Because you are useful and wanted, if you exist, there is very good reason, "god, does not make mistakes,"  nor does he waste the gift of life on anything "useless", even the smallest of insects has it's purpose, all one need to do is take enough interest and time to seek the answer.

    and if i think im not being a good person i change how i treat people and how i handle things!

  12. aww well everyone feels bad about themselves sometimes its just how we are. talk to a close friend or a family member theyll tell you how much they love you and youll feel better. also listening to happy music and going out to do something you love will take your mind off that kind of stuff.

    if things get really bad see a psycologist and theyll patch things up for you

  13. when i feel really bad about myself i say chill. its one mistake or everybody makes mistakes. or i remind myself about the good things i am at. and i close my eyes and take deep breathes. and i ignore my thoughts my head. i turn to God too to help pray and stuff.  and i remind myself of the good things and good memeories and thoughts i also turn on my favourtie songs or songs that cheer me up and just listen. it really helps. or i go and hang out with my friends. or play with my dog or animals.  i watch a movie that also helps. or i work on my game like basketball or soccer. just start txting and get my mind off it. i also like excerising while listening to my favourite music. if you are feeling really blue i would consider some serious shrink help or thearapy.

  16. Talk to friends and keep busy.  You might be better still to see your gp and take advice if your mind is sick then take the medicine.  If you had cancer you wouldn't think twice about taking medicine.  Theres no shame, good luck

I'm sorry to say this, but we're in the same boat.  You're not alone.  I have felt this way my whole life.  I do go to therapy and I'm on antidepressants for my problem.  When I feel this way, I usually eat, which is one of the reasons why I have a serious weight problem, but I also go to bed and cry myself to sleep.  If I wake up in the morning still feeling just as blue, I still allow myself to cry, but I try to hide it from my son who's only three.

    You may want to get some help.  It doesn't hurt.  

  20. Becoming self confident can be a slow process but one you need to embrace. The first thing would be to surround yourself by someon who thinks your great. Try not to self examine everything and look at each day as a gift.

  22. You are getting some really twisted answers like diets and abusing yourself which are two really messed up ways to fix your life. I feel like that a lot and all I do is lay on my bed and put some slow music on and just rest. I think people feel bad about themselves because not enough people tell them they care about them. One person might only need their mom to say they care, and another, like yourself, probably needs a lot of reassurance from mom, dad, siblings, friends. Anyone that you care about also most likely cares about you. Everyone has different ways of dealing with self pity. I also paint or draw when I feel so bad. But if you start getting thoughts of harming yourself or suicide PLEASE don't hesitate to talk to someone you're comfortable with or a doctor and they'll help you get through it. And just remember that no matter what you've done, somebody out there will always care about you.


  23. Sometimes life gives you curve balls. I understand what your saying but the best thing to do is keep yourself busy... Sports, walks, runs, clean your room. Lifes great enjoy it to the fullest. Be yourself and don't change only if it's for the better. Cheer up:)

    Your going to have blue days and then some bright ones. Always remember that you are  one  of the lucky ones, unwise you wouldn't be here. Life is bigger then you feeling like your a bad person today.  Some people in this world are hungry, homeless, blind, in jail, born with no family etc.

    BE THANKFUL, it could be worst.

      

  25. once a week a go to a party to meet with people my dad are close to, and some of them have teenagers close to my age. and i'm always trying to impress the ones 1 or 2 or 3 years older than me. sometimes i will make them laugh really hard and then most of the time they would give me this look that i think means they don't wanna hang out with me. i don't know wat to do but i feel the same way you do. and i'm so shy at school that i don't have any friends. but i try my best to hide my feelings and smile. but it starts gettin really hard......

Well sweety the first thing to remember is that you are not alone.Many have feelings such as this and there is help.Depending on what exactcally you are thinking when you have these bad thoughts will determine which road to follow.If they are bad thoughts that could harm yourself then you need to remember that you only have one life and what you do today will reflect on tomarrows outcome in life.Nothing,absolutly nothing is worth bodily harm because there are so many opportunities for all of us to learn and make a difference.We all have good times and we all have bad times and the best times are either when we are doing something that we enjoy for ourselves and for some it is trying to see how many smiles we can bring to someone elses life.If it is family,well maybe it is just them and not you that really needs the help.Sometimes parents can get so involved in themselves that they fail to see what really matters to them or what should matter which is you and therefore can leave you feeling useless.If it is from friends then you need to realize that you are just as good as them,maybe not in the same things but as a person in whole.Maybe it is time to ignore these friends and find a new group of friends.I understand that this can be hard to forget about current friends but if this is the case,well maybe they are only pretend friends or they need to learn how to treat friends.Also remember that having one true friend is better than having 200 pretend friends.If you are one of the ones that are made fun of for some reason,then i suggest you be patient and ignore the ones that are doing this as they will learn someday that they are doing wrong.The best advice that i can give you is to pin point the problem and try to avoid this problem.Find a new hobby,join a church group,take up dance lessons or what ever you are into and whatever that may be,put fourth 110 percent effort into it and you will find yourself slowly taking your mind off of these bad things.

  28. Walk as far as I can. Then come home and take a bubble bath, spend hours playing with my hair and makeup, then I am jsut worn out, so I go to bed with some nice music in my earbuds.
