  1. Call the insurance company that is covering the car your dad was driving. Give them all the information, let them deal with the womans ins. company. Thats what they are for.

  2. It doesn't matter if there is a police report on it or not.  In the case of a rear end, it's obvious who is at fault.  All you need to do is call YOUR insurance, report it and let them handle it for you.  Or, yes, you can call her insurance, but I personally have a great insurance agent and he would handle the whole thing for me.  In fact, when I got T-Boned by a crazy woman who ran a red light (a cop witnessed the whole thing, how crazy is that?) my agent got me a lawyer, and between the two of them, they handled the whole entire thing.  Every body made money, and I walked away with all my medical bills 100% paid for plus $5,000.

Obviously, your little fender bender isn't as bad as my accident, but your dad pays enough money for the dang insurance, let the agent handle everything.

  3. Depends on the state that you live in.

You should have called the police as soon as it happened. If you don't have a police report, the insurance company may not do anything about it.
