What kind of school counselor? Anyway, I would tell them they are not my friends if they don't respect what I tell them. This is assuming that you are not overstepping your authority.

I was a counselor when i was in high school and at my school when there were situations that involved my friends i would let them know that at that moment i had a job to do and couldn't play favorites, or deal with any nonsense. and as your friends they should respect that, as mine did. but if your friends are not taking you serious give them an ultimatum, listen, or get in trouble! and if that doesn't work sick another counselor on them so that way you don't have to deal with them.
