I bought a Cilantro Plant at Home Depot.. I never used it.. It got real tall (3+ feet) and now its starting to die on the bottom.. Flower up top and make seeds.. On the back of the label of the plant is says "Harvest seeds when turn a grayesh color".. When harverst do you plant these?.. Or do you eat them?..

Thanks..

If you re-plant them.. How?!..

  1. You can sow them straight into the ground or into a pot on the windowsill.  I have some which are about 3 inches high at the moment, which I sowed about 4 weeks ago.  You can keep them in a paper bag in the cool ,once the seeds are ripe.  They will be able to sown next year as well if they are kept cool.  They need some warmth and moisture.  They do not survive frost.

  2. Cilantro is Spanish for coriander so i assume that's what you've got. Add the seeds to savoury food for a nice subtle spicy flavour.
