It is not really a question; it is more like a challenge. Now that HD DVD is no longer, someone should crate a website were all the technical people and software engineers will try to find another uses and applications for the existing units sold till today. Sort off like what they did for YUGO car. People began to build different things in to it like piano, Jacuzzi etc. Toshiba will be helpful by releasing the code to the public and put some monetary reward. Perhaps wee can see another “LENUX DVD” Your opinion please.

  1. id keep it for hd and regular DVDs..some movies are hd only..like Transformers

  2. People are still buying regular DVD players.  One can use an HD DVD player as a very good upconverting player.

  3. I agree with TV Guy.  I bought an HD-DVD player before Christmas.  I just plan on using it for the HD-DVD movies I own and as an upscaling DVD player for the hundred DVDs I already own.  Given the number of free movies that I got and how good my existing DVDs look with it compared to my old DVD player, I'll just hold out for awhile until the price of Blu-ray players comes down a bit more before rushing out.  Once they hit about $200, it'll have cost me no more for the HD-DVD player and Blu-ray player "then" as it costs for a Blu-ray player "today" ($399).

The HD-DVD situation is not like the LaserDisc situation from a decade ago where LaserDisc players really only played LaserDiscs and often didn't even play CDs.

Sorry, not really interested in the ideas of how to cannibalize a perfectly good upscaling DVD player that also happened to play HD-DVD.

  4. I wouls seriously try to sell it as soon as possible and get what money you can, you may end up taking a los, but a loss it betrer then no money out of it at all. If you are at least 18 try ebay
