  1. There are cheap turbo kits for the 2.2 S10's.  I have seen homemade turbo kits for as low as $900.  From what I've been reading, they run in the 13's with the turbo kit.  I wouldn't bother boring that motor out.  The new pistons will cost a fortune because I'm pretty sure they have to be custom made since it's not a popular application.  I've considered dropping a 350 or a LS1 in mine, but it's pretty expensive(compared to just installing a turbo kit).  Check out www.S10forum.com and look in the classified section for a turbo or supercharger kit.  And like the other guy said, there are bolt-ons such as header kits, exhaust kits, and cold air intakes too. Good luck with it.

  2. Check with summitracing.com. I own a 2000 S10 with a 2.2 liter also. However, in the sake of helping you out, which 2.2. liter do you have. There was the flex fuel (VIN code 5) and the regular (VIN code 4) versions. To get the answer, check your 8th digit on the VIN.

Summit does offer a header, cold air intakes, some exhaust systems, and other upgrade parts as well. Just ensure that you have the right information to avoid all headaches.
