Question:

What to do with a day off?

Ok so i quit my part time job last week because i am going on holiday in a couple of weeks and the day after i get back i start a full time job for a year as part of my university course. So i thought i'd take a few weeks off to chill out and do things i want to do before I start a 9-5.

Now it is a week into my 'chilling out' time... and i'm bored. I have already been shopping, gone to the theatre, met up with friends, made photo albums, watched films, gone on bike rides... All of which i didn't expect to accomplish on my first week off. I have two more weeks to go and i am out of ideas - bored out of my mind!!

But when i tell people this i get the same answer "Wow, I'd love to have a day off! How can you be bored?!" But what would you actually do with a day off? Inspire me please!

  1. You should try www.ScraplessBooks.com --they are the best when it comes to digital Storybooking.

It is all online, no software to download. You can start from scratch with a blank book, or use one of hundreds of professionally designed templates with any and every theme imaginable.

With a template, the entire book is pretty much already designed for you, but has spaces left out for your own pictures and text. Also, templates can be changed, they are not permenant--if you don't like the particular button or ribbon or whatever, you can delete it or exchange it for something else.

This is also much cheaper than a traditional scrapbook. You pay $20 for a month's use of the online library of over 60,000 pieces of artwork including backgrounds and embellishments, quotes and texts, and more. Then you pay for the book itself. The books run in all sizes and price ranges, with the 5x5 being $29.95 and the 12x12 being $79.95. And, these are not the cheap, impersonal books you find all over the internet and in every store these days either! These are quality, library bound, hand stitched, hard-back, custom books.

The price does not go by how many pictures or embellishments you use--use as much or as little as you want. Each book comes with a standard 21 pages and you pay $.99 per page after 27 pages, and each is expandable up to 99 pages.

You will not find a better, easier, better quality, cheaper way of scrapbooking. Period.

  4. Well.

Jogging. Do you have a dog? Take him on a jog.

Or, if you do not have a furry friend, you could go to local gyms and get a free 2day - 1week pass. Just tell them you want to check it out and it will be free. You can use their sauna if they have one.

Another cheap good idea - Volunteer.

Go help an elderly neighbor. Sit and talk with them.

Go to the Humane Society and help them for a few days, they can always use the help.

Go to church and ask them how you can help that will be interesting for you for the next couple of weeks.

You can go to lizard stores and look at them.

You can learn how to roller blade if you dont know how.

Bored.com has some ideas to keep you busy also.

-Since u haven't started ur 9-5 yet u don't even know about the monotony that goes along with it. I would love to have a day off and just do nothing all day. Not even shower. That's right I said it. Big whoop, u wanna fight about it?

  8. Hi

I'm off work for a while too.

I would go to a park, not sure where

you live but South park is nice. You

pack yourself a lunch and they have

animals you can see. Enjoy the

beautiful day and the peace and

               quite you deserve.

If you have photo's that you've

been wanting to get in order you

can do that. Go to the pool sit out

and enjoy the sun. Organize your

closet and get rid of the clothes you

haven't worn in a year or two.

This one will get you some

points, make dinner for your mom.

If not for her a special person in your

life that has done some wonderful

               things for you.

  9. Of course, I would go to an amusement park.  One of those could last you a day or two.  It really depends on where you live I guess.  If you live more in the South you'll probably come across more than in the North.

  10. haha , im the same as you , i have th e day off & i have NO IDEA what to do ..
