I noticed a nail on my tire when i put air in the tire this morning. It is brand new tires too. I just bought it two months ago. I was wondering if i can take it to the tire shop and let them patch it up for free or a small charge? I dont want to buy new tires for this cus my tires are expansive and performance. If they charge u to patch it up, how much does it cost?

  1. around 10-60 dollars depending on the tires

  2. If its in the tread part of the tire go to auto zone and buy a tire repair kit and put a plug in it. The plug will last as long as the tire and is only about 7 dollars

  3. as long as the nail is in the tread part and not in the sidewall it can be repaired, usually a $10 to $15 job.

  4. If it's in the sidewall, they will not fix it. In fact, a lot of places won't fix a flat at all due to liability. Sorry for the flat. This has happened to me many times. You can buy replacement insurance for the tire if you're worried about it. Of course, you can't buy it for the tire after it get's a flat, but you can for the other three and the new one.

  5. It's better to just get a new tire ,it does not matter how expensive the tire is by just patching it you are prone to get a blowout which can be fatal at high speeds.

  6. It depends on where the nail is in the tire.  You should not remove the nail.  Bring it to wherever you bought the tires, they usually will provide that type of service free.  The y will most likely patch it up.
