Question:

What to do with a ton of jalapenos?

My hubby picked all of mine tonight. He didn't realize that salsa or any other dish requires just 1 or 2. What can I do with the 20+ else of them? I don't want to give them away, I want something to do with them that I can freeze or be useful in some other way. Just looking for ideas. Thanks all!

  1. Make jalapeno jam. Its really easy, it uses up all of the peppers, and it goes great on pork, chicken, shrimp. I make it all the time. just follow the recipe on a box of Sure-Gel, you can get at the market. usually on the kitchenware or baking isle.

  2. put it on pizza, put it on a sandwich, make salsa, make spicy chili, freeze them, have a hot pepper eating contest, make garlic bread with jalapenos. yummmmmmy

  3. cut the ends off and using a needle and thread, string them in a long rope and hang in a warm dry area(attic comes to mind,)  They will dry better with the ends off so air can circulate into the pepper itself and after they are very dry, you can store them in a jar and use them for what ever you would use fresh ones for.  remember those photos or old movies with peppers and onions hanging in the kitchen?  very rustic and handy.

first time I planted them, I thought they grew like bell peppers, with just a few per plant.  I had boatloads because I planted 10 plants!

  4. Make jalapeno poppers or some other kind of appetizer with them. Some of those other suggestions submitted are good too.  :-)

  5. Jalapeno Chicken Chile Rellenos. Roast the peppers on a skillet until edges are charred. Place in a plastic bag and let the steam soften them up (about 20-30 min.)  Once they are softened, stuff with shredded chicken thats been cooked w;/ tomato, onion,,salt, and pepper. Bring 10 egg whites to stiff peaks, add yolks. Dip jalapenos into egg white batter and pan fry on each side until golden. serve with a mild tomato salsa. Yum.

  6. do you like tuna?? i hope you do, i made this one thing, tune, some cream cheese and some jalapenos, chop the jalapenos up really tiny, probably 3 for every 2 cans, and mix it with the tuna and cream cheese, make sure it really think and mixed well, then put them on bread, its soooo good it like the best kind of tuna sandwhich ever!!!

  7. cut the tops off.

    hollow them out.

    glue them to christmas lights.

    You have mexican green lights

Hold a spicy party for locos who eat really spicy stuff

  8. armadillo egggsss! cut them into halves, gut the seeds, put in a mixture of cooked ground sausage and cream cheese, bake on 350F until the look golden brown
