someone gave me a golden retriever to take care of and i've been taking care of that dog for years now and they said they will take him back someday but it's been a long time now and no one comes back for him. the golden retriever seems to get meaner each a day and he even bit my mom. Now I have a german shephard and he's really gentle but my golden retriever is to mean to him. What should I do?

  1. If you are taking responsibility for this animal, you need to take it to a dog trainer before someone gets hurt. If it was me, I would call the person and say "You have three days to take back your mean dog or find it a home, otherwise I'm giving it to the humane society. He's dangerous." I would do something soon though, animals like this can really injure or even kill people!

  2. The moment my dog would bite any of my family members, I would get rid of it, too much of a risk in my opinion. The previous owner obviously had problems with the dog also and thats the reason why you ended up with it. First of all you have to find out what is going wrong and why. They probably have done a lot wrong so you would have to correct all that which is a very long, time consuming processs and you have to be persistent, possibly with the help of a dog trainer or get the Dog Whisperers videos to get an idea. Is it really worth it? Good luck

  3. Maybe take the golden retriever to obedience. Or you should contact the person who gave it to you.
