  1. Take them to the dump

  2. it would depend on what town and state you live in to know what recycling facilities are available.  here is a site on target bags, maybe you could find more info there. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m3...

if you cant find a suitable place for direct recycling, there are other ways of reuse/recycle. just because you dont have a use for them, others might. local schools, food pantries, churches, animal shelters, etc.

most other grocery stores have bins up for number 2 and 4 bags also. check locally.

even local co-ops will have some info or use for your bags.

  3. Take them back to the customer service desk. It won't take them long to get the point.

  4. I end up with hundreds of Plastic Grocery Bags weekly. I take them to the local Beer and Wine Store as they are always out of paper bags.It is a big help to the local Elderly to carry there booze home in. ( I live in a small rural town in Alberta now)  I just sent 2 huge bags of the bags out to British Columbia with hubby. They went to friends with an ORGANIC FARM. Each week in the season they go to the local Farmers Market and sell there produce. They re-use the bags for the customers purchases. Funny how many people go to the Farmers Markets with no cloth/canvas bags or not enough so the farmer has to have something to put the purchases in or loose the sale. The local Church a few doors up is having a huge Garage Sale today I just took them another huge bag of the bags. What bags are left over will go to the local Food Bank run by the same Church. Much appreciated I must say.

If the bags cannot be recycled then lets re-use them untill such time as they can make a bag that is recycleable.

  5. Many stores accept plastic shopping bags, and have bins near the entrances. Walmart and Jewel stores are a couple that take them.  Could many others in your area!

You can also recycle dry cleaning bags and the bags the daily newspapers arrive in in this same way!!

  6. you can recycle plastic garbage bags

  7. We all should start taking them back to Target! I know what you mean. They're so sturdy, I've reused mine. They are in my car with canvas shopping bags. I don't know of any type 4 bag recycler in my area, just type 4 bottles.

You bring up a valid point. Why must everything they sell be put in those industrial strength bags? Can they start stocking type 2 bags for smaller purchases? If we start asking, maybe they can set up a type 4 recycling bin in the store. I'm sure they can find a recycler with that volume.

I'll press the issue on my next trip. Thanks for asking!

  8. I live in Florida and we have many local vegetable stands. When mine add up I give them to the vendors as it saves them money as well and many people bring them back for reuse. I like my cloth sack for the veggies I buy but it won't hold all my food. The local vendors really appreciate them.

  9. Donate them to the closest church/synagogue because they will definitely have a use for them.

  10. you can recycle them
