  american idol(take turns being a judge and contestent)

do each others  hair and makeup.  My daughter is twelve and she loves to do makeovers one me.

pull out the recipe book and start baking you can usually find  the ingredients needed around the house.

Grab the sock basket, a light bulb, and needles and thread and teach her how to repair socks.

Grab that pile of old jeans that don't fit any more and See what she comes up with to do with them.   pillows for her bed maybe or a purse.  A Teddy bear.  some refrigerator magnets.  ( cut two circles the same size take one and stitch around the outside of the circle so you can gather it.  pull tight and you have the top of a hat.  sew it to the bottom circle. you have a nice woman's bonnet.

White tee and some fabric pens  let her decorate her own shirt  

rearrange her bedroom my daughter loves to change her room around.

Teach her how to crochet or to knit.  make doilies for her room.

Read with her.  Ask her help preparing lunch.  Ask her to walk the dog.  Help her pick an outfit for this evening's dinner out.  Take her for a walk and enjoy guessing what other folks are doing this hot, lazy afternoon.  Help her make a new outfit for her little sister's fave doll and teach her the value of being a giving and loving person.  Show her a pic of grampa in his Army uniform and talk for a bit about the necessity for serving one's country and not only looking out for oneself.  Rent a coupe vids - one for fun and an educational one - view the educational one first, then sit and laugh with her at the fun one.  Above all - let her know she's wanted and loved.
