Question:

What to do with an unused aquarium tank?

I have an unused, 20 gallon tank (used to watch some tadpoles grow, which we later released into a nearby pond). I would like to do something with it--but I travel a lot, and need something super low or no maintenance. I believe that rules out turtles (which I know can get smelly) and most fish. I am even toying with just using it as some kind of planter. I am looking for ideas that will make use of the tank, be interesting for kids, and be very easy to upkeep. Thanks.

  1. create a small zen garden with sand, pebbles, a little rake, a couple of 'boulders and a little plant or two for 'trees'..

for that matter, use good looking 'fake' plants....or those 'air plants' like in one of the above links... no care worries.....

  2. you can place live plants

which could be bought at petco

and petsmart and you could also

    put a lizard (iguana chameleon)

    we used to do that

and so did my neighbors (:

    hoped i helped!

  3. Turn it into a tuarium with small plants of different kinds.

  4. Turtles wouldn't be a bad idea.  It's only a 20 gallon tank just ask a friend to turtle sit.  You could take the tank to their house.
