What to do with damaged dry cell?are there any adverse effect of doing so?

Technically we are supposed to recycle them. That is the legally correct answer. Take it to a battery collection center or battery store and they will dispose of it for you.

Many good metal parts or metals (zine and iron) can be melt down and reuse. Pastic cap and cover can be recycled. A regular dry cell has a thick piece of carbon post ( + ) that can be used again.
