Question:

What to do with my 'tween' son?

I am horrified that I have been unable to find much info on the internet about 'tween' boys. If you type in tween girls you'll find page after page of silly girly stuff that encourages shallow, image and boy obsessed behavior. Why are we not encouraging parental relationships with 'tween' boys? I need some ideas for fun activities I can do with my ten year old son. We have a great relationship and he talks to me about stuff but I feel like I need some new and different things to do with him besides going to the park or movie. I try to discourage video games and tv all the time which seems to be all he wants to do. any ideas?

  3. Oh I am so glad to see that you posted this question.  I, too, have a 10 year-old son that I find it difficult to create enjoyable activities for he and I to do together.

I can't wait to see what other answers you receive on this.

My kid loves to play board games or learn something new, put things together or have me in his presence for any reason whatsoever.  :)  I really hope people give you GOOD ideas on this!  Good luck to you.

  4. Another hint is to try using the phrase p*****n, given that tween normally refers to girls. Get him involved in some sports, clubs, or classes. What he really needs is a hobby!

  5. Play some sports, get him a dirt bike, skateboard or anything else 10 year old boys do.

  6. shoot some hoops with him,  get outside and play catch,  horse back riding, take him to the races,  Go bike riding, Go hiking,  take him camping, fishing,  leather work,  go play laser tag,  flag football,  Remote control airplanes, remote control cars,  build a tree house with him.  go roller skating.
