Do any creative type people have suggestions as to what I might be able to do with old calendars etc and other pictures that are really nice (postcards etc)? I don't want to put them in a photo album or on the wall, but some of them are really nice and I don't really want to throw them out. Any ideas?

  1. you could made artwork out of them, make furnature out of them.

  2. you can start out a scrapbook , its very addictive though. be warned . LOL

  3. I pile them up in boxes then put the boxes in the loft, but the ceiling is staring to bulge.

  4. Sling em if they are scenic ones, and keep the girlie ones because i have bonded with each one over the course of the month that they have been on my wall!!

  5. Why not laminate them and use them as placemats?

For postcards glue them on to a backing sheet first, arranging in some kind of associated pattern, all landscapes, all old buildings, all fauna, etc. and then laminate. You could paste them on to a craftwood tray that you have stained or painted, then seal with a clear epoxy or varnish. They would make great gifts this way.

If you just like looking at them , why not have a thick piece of glass cut the size of your coffee table, side table or similar and arrange them underneath the glass. This way they are on show for as long as you want them to be and you can change them at will.

  6. You could use them to make nice cards or cut round shapes and use them as gift tags

    x*x

  7. I took an old calendar of colorful animals and sewed the pages back to back with a zig zag stitch and colorful thread on the sewing maching.  Then bound it with some rick rack. My toddler son (back then) loved looking at the beautiful large picture book of animals.

  8. Why not turn them into greating cards. You can pick up cheap card stock on Ebay with envelopes, som pretty backing paper, some double sided foam pads to raise the image and get creating......you can cut out images that suit you and if you have more than one image the same the you can layer them...

All your friends and family will think you are very talented and they will love a hand made creation. I make a heap with Tibetan Silver charms..... I buy a lot from this seller:

    Have fun xx

  9. You could give them to an elementary or preschool teacher for kids to use for collages or for the teacher to use for related topics.

You could decoupage pictures onto the covers of scrap book, journals, or albums, other flat surfaces.

Just paint under and over with mod podge--from any craft store.
