I am sadly the owner of the evenflo embrace car seat that was recalled. Now there is a repair kit for it but I'm sorry.. this seat hurt around 600 babies and a repair kit doesn't make me feel any better. I don't want to just throw it away. I put it on Craig's list making sure i told people it was recalled and included the link for the repair kit. What would you do? I think evenflo should reimburse every single one of us that bought this seat.

  1. Since you bought it 3yrs ago, and if your not using it now, I would just get a new car seat, that or I would contact evenflo directly and let them know you don't feel safe w/the the repair kit that you want your money back or a car seat that is comparable that has never been recalled.

    That's what I would do!

  2. Personally? I would trash this one. Make sure you put it in a trash bag that can't see thru or someone will pick it up and use it. I'm guessing none of the posters are familiar with this particular Evenflo recall. It was a doozy - it was realized that infant seats were flying off the bases! That's a BIG deal. And what did they do to fix it? They sent out an extra flimsy strap to further attach the seat to the base. And extra strap that attaches in 2 places meaning instead of just clicking the carrier in/out of the base, you have to do/undo the strap. Completely taking away the convenience of an infant carrier.

I agree Evenflo owes you a refund or a new seat, but they're not likely to do it. Evenflo has one great seat: Evenflo Triumph Advance. They have a bad track record with infant seats and recalls. I think they've yet to have one without serious recalls. I would not use it. Not just for not trusting it (though that certainly comes to mind) but more for the convenience factor. I would get a convertible seat for th enew baby. I hate infant seats. Evenflo Triumph Advance is an awesome seat and fits newborns well and lasts most kids to 5-6 years old. Its not Evenflo, its their infant seats.

  3. box it up and ship it back to the company.

  5. I had the same problem with their three in one car infant seat stroller years ago I took it to toys R Us and they replaced it with a new Model.

  6. Here is what you can do. Contact a car seat technician and take the car seat to them have and have it destroyed. Please do not throw it away because someone will try to use it. Try calling your local police department and ask them if they know of any car seat techs in your area. I am like you I do not trust many Evenflo products.

  7. We had a brittax car seat that had a repair kit associated with it, it was very easy to install.

  8. you can take it back and they can replace it with a newer/better model.
