  1. soak it over night, do not water the lawn when it is hot out and the sun it on it. it can burn

  2. these "spots" may be caused by low spots retaining water or high spots draining to fast. This is one of the problems of newly sodded lawns.Walk the area checking for these spots.Fill in low areas or take out some soil from high areas, this is just one of the problems that cause browning in spots. Also some spots may not have rooted in good due to very little root development in the new sod.

  3. Dog urine can cause dead patches. Or the heat can burn it. If it is burned then all you have to do is water it and the grass will grow back. The roots or not burned just the grass blades. Once it cools off a bit you can fertilize with a winterizer and it will come back green in the spring.

  4. You need to water it on really hot days. Don't soak it, though, you'll kill the roots. Give it one inch per day.
