What to do with son's artwork from preschool?

My son brings home atleast 5 pages or items that he's made during the day in preschool . . i've kept them all and Im looking for ideas on what to do with them. I feel bad keeping them in a box but we've run out of places to hang them in the house . .

I take pictures of them with my digital camera and then dump them onto a CD. That way you can look at the CD to reminisce without all of the clutter. Also, I usually take the really good ones (12 per year) and make a calendar for their granparents for Christmas. It's easy to do (ask someone at office max to help) and they are so proud to share them.

Save about ten items from throughout the year, put them into a nice scrapbook or other nice looking book, and then save them for gifts for your son when he either graduates high school, or gets married or has a child of his own-- when he is old enough to treasure them as much as you do.

I suggest though, that you just save you and your son's favorite ones, and not every little thing, because you will find that by the time he graduates high school, you will have boxes, upon boxes of saved items :-) So just stick with the favorite items from each year (preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, etc.) and when your son is old enough to appreciate them, and save them to pass onto his own children, give it to him as a gift-- nothing more appreciated than knowing that your parents cared enough to save your favorite items for you.

I keep a few pieces yearly and put them in a nice folder; hang some on the fridge but then I get rid of a lot too. Choose the ones most meaningful to you.

Put the most recent stuff up and whenever there's a season change, change the artwork, this happens at school anyway and so he should be used to it.  

You could make a scrap book of pictures he drew and take pictures of him with the bigger things like hats and decorated paper plates to put in it.

get a whole punch and let him pick which ones he wants to keep to put in a notebook binder. then send ones to family members far way or to the men and women fighting over seas.

if you have a blank wall hang them all there but if not have your son on the weekend mane a big memory box as an art and craft but use it to store all his crafts and write dates on the pics so you can have them forever!

does he have a portfilio ,if not make one for him ,pick out the really nice ones and put them in the book and keep doing it until year 6 ,

My daughter had the same problem with my Grandson. They ended up getting a very large photo album and picked the best of the art work and just kept filling it up. Now they can go back and look at it whenever they want.  They also went to a scrapbook store and got the letters to put on the front of the album.  This way you can store them on a bookshelf if needed.

A couple ideas I know of are to have a portfolio that can be placed on the coffee table.  Just take a three ring binder and those clear sleeves you can buy anywhere and place his pictures in there.  That way you're keeping them and displaying them in a way.  Also, he can track his progress over the years.  You can still display some on the walls of your house in frames and whatnot.  Another thing I know of having a magnetic wall.  You can buy the paint at Home Depot.  If you have the magnetic wall in his room, he can pick which pieces of artwork he wants to hang on the wall and change them as frequently as he wants to.  Hope this helps!

You should make a scrapbook for him, so that when he gets older he can see all his projects he did in school and also see the great things he made especially for you

well my son is now 10 and i still hang up the odd thing.

he gets a bit embarrased now.

i kept loads in a box or boxes birthday cards xmas cards but last year sorted them all out to the most meaningfull.

then sealed it and put it in the loft along with things like his unopened santa letter, to look at when he gets older.

enjoy looking at them again and enjoy them with him in years to come.

Maybe do something special in his room. or keep a really big box of them and keep it untill he's old enough to see them and then he can decide if he wants to keep them or do something else with them

You could do what my mom did. She had a box for me and each of my siblings. She put stuff like the art I made and bottles and diapers from when I was a baby. Now-a-days, I can look back to when I was little and relive all of those memories.
