I know there isn't much left to the rose petals after soaking them in the water to make rose petal water, but does anyone have any creative uses for them? Any food or arts and crafts idea or just whatever you can come up with? Thanks!

  1. I'd put them in my compost bin. They can nourish next year's garden.

  2. i'm not sure how the petals look after you've used them to make rose water. but if they are in good shape & have retained some color, then spread them out between sheets of absorbent paper [newspaper, toilet roll, kitchen towels,,,,] & allow them to dry out. you may need to change the sheets occassionally til they are completely dry. use a presser if you have one after they are reasonably dry.

once completely dry, you can store them in air-tight container.

    * use for potpourris - if there is no aroma sprinkle some essence/essential oil/attar. even without odor, they will look great when mixed with other dried aromatic stuff.

    * use to make beautiful greeting cards, place cards, napkin holders, any type of artwork by gluing in attractive designs. you can even laminate if required.

    * use to make borders for your cards, scrap books, etc.

    * use to fill in blank spaces in scrapbook pages

    * use on lampshades, mirrors, etc.

    hope these helped

all the best & enjoy :-)

  3. make them into beads. Rose Petal beads are a very dark red color.

roll them into little balls and thread them on a cord to dry. Cord needs to be as large as you want the hole in them to be.

I did this some 40 years ago with the neighbor lady and my grandmother teaching. Neighbor had a huge rose garden so loads of rose petals for making all kinds of stuff.
