I have recieved a subpoena in the mail, summoning me to testify as a witness in the behalf of the state. What concerns me is that it says it is the state versus myself. i have no clue what this is about! There is no detail as to any charges or.....anything.

  1. They are charging you with some thing, that is a summons that will be followed by a bench warrant if you do not show up.

  2. I was not aware that subpoenas were delivered by mail; but, if you received one, I suggest you contact an attorney.

  3. Go to the court house on the date shown, find out there exactly what it's all about. If you fail to attend, there will probably be an arrest warrant issued for you.

    Good luck. X :-)

  4. I would contact the court clerk and see what info they can tell you.  Let them know what you received and they should be able to tell you why.  If you cant do that, then I would go to court at the specified day and time cuz if you dont, the judge will issue a bench warrant for your arrest and you will sit in jail until you go infront of them.  and depending on the day of the week that you are picked up, such as a friday, you will sit there until at least monday.
