What to eat after running?

well i have just started a sprint program, in which you sprint 30 seconds all out, and then 2-4 minutes of recovery, then repeat

it is meant to increase endurance and burn calories

so, i am wondering what i should eat after this workout?

i don't want to lose muscle and i only do this workout every other day, so i have a day of recovery.

  1. elite athletes say it's best to eat immediately after you run to replenish what you've lost during your workout. immediately being within 30 min. usually they say to eat something high in protein, potassium, or carbohydrates.

    but that's for endurance athletes. not for sprinters.


  2. It is recommended that you eat some protein ASAP after a workout to aid muscle building and recovery.

  3. you shouldnt be losing muscle while running if you are doing a pretty intense cardio

    also, eating carbs right after will help refuel you and eating protein will help muscle loss prevention
