  1. I will probably get thumbs down for this - but I eat what I want when I am pregnant.  I don't go on crazy junk food binges or anything, but if I want a cookie, I eat a cookie.  If I want a deli meat sandwich, I eat one WITHOUT HEATING IT UP FIRST!  I also eat tuna, and all that other stuff they tell you not to eat.  I did this with my first pregnancy and my baby was fine, and now with this one, the u/s showed a healthy little boy that is right on with all his measurements.  I wouldn't worry very much about it.  If you are eating what your dr said is ok, then that is fine.  As long as your dr doesn't say anything about what you are eating or ask you about it, doesn't mention anything about your weight or anything like that, you are doing ok.  And tell your aunt to mind her business!

  2. geesh you must have the patience of a saint because I would have already smacked her across the face!!

My mom tried that sh*t with me .. now she just complains like "all you eat are burgers and pizzas" and its not even true ,,,

Unless your eating rocks, sheetrock (some women do)... poisoned you are fine!!

If you eat like tomato sauce, spicy stuff, cinnamon, pepermint or any starch too late you will pay the price with heart burn or constipation ...

but as long as you are fine dont worry about what your aunt says ...

I eat jars of olives plus the olive juice ... so compared to me you are eating super healthy

  3. why dont you visit http://www.easyninemonths.com/pregnancy_...

  4. There are actually only a few things that you really should not eat during pregnancy..

    Raw meats & Seafood

    Deli meats that aren't cooked

    Too much tuna

    Soft cheeses

    Liver

    Unpasteurized milk and juices

    and of course Alcohol

Sometimes peanuts (if family has a history of peanut allergies)

    but that's it..

    Happy Pregnancy Eating! ;o)

  5. that is funny..well u can eat every thing but not the listed stuff that i will mention to u and i will mention with it why u can't eat:

A.any uncooked meat..or cooked and left for more than 10 min. and that is because there is an organism named toxoplasma would live on this which may harm the baby mentally if u got it.believe it or not..i was so sad for that part when i was pregnant.

B.eggs and salty food should be reduced after 6 months pregnancy because they may increase the edema in ur legs

C.caffeinated beverages and chocolates...because they turn ur baby into an active sleepless baby in which u r gonna suffer when he is out of ur belly to make him sleep..u r allowed to take only one cup of one of them daily not more..but if u can cancel it..that would be better

    D.sure alcohol and cigarettes.

after that..u can eat and drink any thing...and for the break fast make it cereals or cheese or an egg(every other day)

wish u a healthy baby and mom

  6. The only things they want you to stay away from are undercooked meats and sushi. Lunch meat and cold hot dogs they say aren't good but we've all ate them and nothing bad has happened.

I see nothing wrong with the things you are eating. You seem to be doing just fine in my book! If everything was so bad to eat during pregnancy we'd all starve to death!!

You can eat pork, chicken, beef, and even fish as long as it's all cooked to the proper temperatures. Fruits and veggies are just fine as well. They say to stay away from things that you have allergies to or a family history of allergies as it could be genetic for baby, but like I said, we've all ate things and nothing bad happened.

  7. A happy mum will deliver a happy baby, so as well as eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, you can also eat (in moderation) anything your aunt tells you not to eat.

Just you enjoy your pregnancy ...it's YOUR baby, not your aunt's.

    Wish you all the best.

  8. if you follow every bit of advice you come across you wont be eating. i have given up and having spoken to my gran and my sister am eating what i want and when i want including soft boiled eggs, shellfish. a little of what you fancy does you good. i am not sure where you are but i am on a tight budget so we eat pork and bacon and i am 26 weeks pregnant and haven't heard of this  i am in the uk. i would personally tell her to butt out providing food if cooked properly you should be fine and go with the flow. my craving is for cream slices and fruit

**edit** toxoplasmosis gondii is killed off when meat is cooked properly i.e no blood so don't worry if you leave it to cool for 10 min or so. not sure why i got thumbs down. but please eat a balanced diet whenever you can this includes starchy foods as it will give you slow release sugars i.e pots are a stable chopice of mine cheap cook in a variety of ways and are full of goodness. do follow the sheet that you were given as best you can, i don't always as i don't like hard cooked eggs and like certain foods which if i didn't eat i would not get everything i needed. i honestly know about being on a tight budget but if you are in the UK you may qualify for sure start vouchers which means you can get cows milk and fruit till baby is born and then if you breast feed you can still get all those things if not then you can buy baby formulawith the vouchers. but honestly a little of what you fancy doe do you good. my sister has had three healthy children and ate what she wanted the only thing to really avoid is liver and certain fish. my nan had two children and  they were given the advice of eat liver now we are told not too next week it will be eat this or that but don't eat such and such a good balalnced diet is all you need.

  9. tuna eggs and just raw fish i think most stuff is ok other than them tell her to keep her nose out she obviously dont know much and its getting to you

  10. I'm glad no one told me what I shouldn't be eating.

Common sense u don't want to eat anything raw or unpasteurized...deli meat is fine, fish is fine as long as it isn't high in mercury..chicken, beef, eggs, etc...u can eat that!

I craved a chocolate chip milk shake and big mac from time to time...and yes, I ate them!!

  11. Seriously, all those things are fine to eat. The only BIG no-nos during pregnancy are lunch meat, fish, seafood, and caffeine. Eat whatever you want (in moderation of course)

  12. Healthy things. Have a good balance of things for you baby.

You can have bread and meat, it;s fine. I mean, some people advice you not too, but it;s ok. And candy once and while. Your preggo for god sake and a pregnant woman CRAVES! Just don't pig out on candy.

Eat what you want. It's your prengnacy. Your child will be as healthy as a horse when she/he comes. If you eat steak, some cookies, biscuts, your fine. People advice you not to eat that stuff, but how many mothers have eaten that stuff and there chldren were fine. Just don't binge on too much of it and make you and your baby sick. When you can, eat healthy. When you can't, don't go to far.

People will yell at you for not eating healthy because they don't understand what it's like to be a craving pregnant mother. And if they do, they think that it's TERRIBLe as in He** for the baby if you eat chocolate. It's not. What you eat DOES go to the child inside you but I mean really. 1 or 2 boxes of chocolate isn't going hurt...teehee.

There are so many variables to how your baby grows like parenting. Parenting is the most important thing. That starts after you pop darling. As for now, read the baby books while eating an apple and and a peice of chocolate. : )

You can eat meat. Meat has protein doesn't it? It makes me angry when people tell mothers that you can't eat this, or you can't eat that. Like I said, there are so many variables to how the babe grows.

Drink tea too! I think tea is healthy! That;s my random last advice. Good luck and God Bless You and Your Healthy child.

    P.S. Maybe the baby likes CHocolate too you know! Teehee. I'm kidding.....sort of : ) : P

  13. you can eat mostly whatever you want. there are a few things that you arent supposed to, mostly fish with alot of mercury or raw fish. fruits are great to eat during pregnancy! i ate what i felt like eating. tell her to butt out, she really has no place to tell you what to eat!

  14. haha. Not sure what your aunt is talking about, but maybe you should hand her the list from your doctor and tell her that is what you are going by but thanks anyways for her opinions.

Everything you mentioned is totally fine to eat.

Biggest thing to be weary of is food that have a higher risk of containing foodborne illnesses (salmonella, listeria etc) such as:

raw seafood/meat, undercooked meat (just order beef medium well or well done), unwashed fruits and veggies and deli meat and uncooked hotdogs. If you microwave or cook deli meat to steaming it will kill any potential bacteria.

Cooked shellfish, chix, pork, bacon, meat and hotdogs are fine.

Avoid unpasteurized soft cheeses like brie - BUT pasteurized cheese of any kind if perfectly fine, just read the label.

Raw/undercooked eggs - just eat them hardboiled or over hard so the yolks are cooked

High mercury fish - Tile Fish, Swordfish (the big fish)

Tuna and salmon are ok 1 serving about 2 times a week (keep in mind a can of tuna is usually 2.5 servings)

Some avoid fake sugar like aspartame, and splenda, but docs usually say in small quantities they are fine - like in one yogurt.

Saccharin is the one you want to definitely avoid.

Limit your sweets - just so you have enough room for all the healthy stuff :) but remember ice cream is a good source of calcium .

  15. somethings wrong with ur aunt....lol...u can eat everything n anything during pregnancy....however avoiding oily ,high calorie snacks n half-cooked meat....theres some kinds of fishes to be avoided too...other than that have everything u want to eat as far as its healthy n nutritious!
