What to eat for dinner when your stomach hurts?

Last night my stomach hurt really bad and was very gassy. What can I make for dinner tonight that will be gentle on my stomach? I have not eaten yet today for fear of upsetting my stomach! Any suggestions?

  1. the brat diet...bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. they digest easily


  2. A simple, light soup. Try cooking some noodles in vegetarian broth. Though it's not the healthiest food out there, it will probably not do much to your stomach.

  3. Campbell's chicken noodle soup :)

    Also, eating raw ginger helps.

  4. steamed spinach will do wonders.. that's gentle, soft and to the point.

    with most iron and protein to help you get through the night.

    if only now you could make some mashed potatoes.. that's a great additional idea.


  5. Plain oatmeal with bananas cooked with it...add a little sugar and some soy milk.  That's what I eat when my stomach is upset.  It's tasty, light, and super digestible.

  6. Chicken broth will settle and sooth

    chicken noodle soup is good too if you want some substance


  7. if your a vegetarian have some veggie broth instead of chicken broth.

  8. have a knorr veg broth and add a bit of rice.  also san pellegrino or any mineral or soda water.  does wonders for the stomach.  eat mint as well.  mint is great for digestion.  i add mint to my water sometimes.  or a tincture or tea of mint.

    Such as, yogurts, soft foods, crackers, soups (not chunky), not too much vegetables either.

  11. for an upset stomach, always use BRAT

    Bread

    Rice

    Applesauce

    Toast

    none will irritate an upset stomach and eating something (and keeping it down) can aid in beating back whatever gave you the problem.
