I just joined the swim team (my senior year) I have a lot of food allergies such as Beef, chicken, eggs, milk, (all) tree nuts. What and when should I eat before and after practice?

  1. Pasta good before. Don't eat dairy. At a practice do exactly what your coach wants for a workout. Do the heart rate right and work hard. It's all there for a reason. After practice, eat as much as you want because you burn 1000+ calories each practice.

  2. nothing or only a light snack before a swim

  3. Hmmm...can you eat pasta? Pasta is a very good food for swimming, it has lots of carbs. Basically any food with lots of carbs is good. Bread products (bagels, etc.) are pretty good also. As a swimmer I eat a lot of pizza and pasta...I guess all I can really say is carbs, carbs, carbs...I hope this helps.
