  1. My son just went for a well baby check. No shots as long as they are up to date on all of them. My son was walking at eight months and three weeks. He eats most things on his own (just not with a fork and he's not so great with a spoon yet). He sleeps all night. Using a sippy cup for everything except formula.

  2. My son just had his 9 month appointment last week. Well they weigh and measure them. My son also got 2 shots his Hep B and Polio shot. And they pricked his finger to test his hemoglobin level. They checked his height and weight. And his doctor sat him up to see how wow he was keeping himself balanced and stood him up as well. She checked his eyes, throat and ears and his head for the soft spots. She asked lots of questions about what he is eating and how much and how often. Is he drinking from a sippy cup and what not. But I also asked her lots of questions as well. I always come with a list.lol

My son is sitting on his own, sitting himself back up if he falls, pulling himself up and now trying to walk while holding on to things. He has said 3 words Bye Bye, Mama, and Dada and he does the army crawl. But if your child isn't doing these things don't worry they will. All babies are different!

  3. I think 9 mos. is just a well baby check, no shots.  At least that is how mine is.  He gets shots at 6 mos then 12 mos.  By 9 mos.  some babies will be crawling, some will be pulling up, some may even be walking.  They should be self feeding some finger foods by then.  Hopefully sleeping through the night haha!

  4. 9 month old checkup (that's funny, my son turned 9 months today and goes next tues for his 9 month old checkup)

At every checkup, the health professional:

Looks at your baby's physical growth by measuring weight, length, and head circumference. These measurements are plotted on a growth chart and are compared to previous and later markings to make sure your baby is growing as expected.

Asks you about your baby's motor and sensory development, vision, and hearing. Your baby receives a thorough examination, and immunizations are given.

Assesses your baby's emotional and social development by observing his or her interactions with you. You will be asked questions about how you and the rest of the family are doing, how your baby is eating and sleeping, and whether you have noticed any changes in behavior.

In addition to the above assessments, the health professional will be especially interested in checking specific developments at your baby's:

9-month checkup: How is your baby eating? Is your baby able to pick up objects? Does your baby respond to his or her name?

Your son wont need any shots until he is 1 year old :-)

My nine month old is eating real food (whatever i eat, most of the time), not saying mama yet... but can say vava ... which i think is his term for mama. crawling all over the place, and def. has taken three steps all by himself. everyday he takes sometimes one more step the last time... its amazing

  5. I asked the same question earlier - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Milestones - right now, my son is pulling himself up, crawling everywhere, eating table foods, holding a sippy cup, babbling like crazy.
