I'm kind of nervous and the instructors have told me to know all these different things such as "Who was it founded by" "How do you count to 10 in Korean" "Where is the ATA fed located" etc. What exactly are they going to be doing during testing time?

  1. ...You're going to orange on you first test? What about yellow and gold? Besides, ATA is a McDojo (Belt Factory) and just gives out belts like candy. I would try to find a different school that's not just about making money and giving you belts.

  2. You may not be asked all the questions, but be prepared to answer them.  You should know how to count to 10 in Korean.  If you don't, I'll list it down below.

Anyway, you will probably have to do some exercises (push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, etc.), then you will have to do some basics, kicks, punches, stances, then you will have to do your form (Hyung, Tul or Poomse), and you may have other requirements such as 1 step sparring drills and/or self defense moves.

Some ATA schools may have you break a piece of wood with a chop or a kick.

    I'm sure you'll do fine.

    Here is the count:

    1 - Hana

    2 - Dol

    3 - Set

    4 - Net

    5 - Dasat

    6 - Yasat

    7 - ill gup

    8 - yo dul

    9 - ahop

    10 - yul

    Good luck.

  3. you will probably be asked, i was..i was with the ATA for a while.

Hang Ung Lee is the founder. but most just say H. U. Lee. the federation i think...is located in Seoul Korea.

as for the physical test, it's just like class except you and other white belts will get up by yourselves and do your form. then demo your one step sparring..etc. and that's about it.

you and others will be doing the one steps and forms at the same time in front of a few judges.

dont worry yourself, just get a good nights sleep and be prepared for it. relax, it isn't a big deal ...good luck.

hana, tul, set, net, dossot, yossut, il-goh, yodul, ahup, yul. is roughly how it was pronounced when i was in the ATA.
