What to expect for weight loss on a water fast??

I just wrapped up my first day on a water fast and I have some questions. How much weight can I plan on losing on average each day if I don't add any extra activity to my daily routine? And also, when I break my fast will my body have a hard time digesting the food? please share personal experiences if you have any, thanks =]]

  1. I am not sure where you got the idea that a water fast was a good idea because it is one of the worst things you can do to lose weight.

    It is a common misconception that we should eat less (or in your case, no food) to lose weight. You should in fact be eating more food to cater for all the exercise you should be doing to lose weight the healthy way. You are basically wrecking your metabolism and this will affect weight loss and weight gain for the rest of your life.

    Not only this but your body will be eating up fat burning muscle, further decreasing your chances of losing weight. It is time to wake up. If you don't stop this fast now and start eating, you are going to do your body serious and permanent damage.

    Is that really worth losing a few pounds over. I am sorry to be so harsh but honesty is what you need.

  2. You can lose about a pound a day if you don't exercise.. When you stop fasting, don't eat anything that would be too hard to digest or any raw food.  Try some soup the first day off the fast and slowly go back to regular food.

  4. You can lose about 1/2 pound a day during the fast and can expect half to three quarters of the weight to come back as soon as you start eating again.  A water fast is usually done for religious reasons, it is not very effective as a weight loss diet.
