  1. how long have you had her? if it's only been you and her for years, she isn't going to like it.

they will fight. but, they can learn to like each other to. not all cats are the same. my cat was 5 years old and i brought a kitten home. big mistake! my cat was fine, it was the kitten who caused all the trouble.

so, it may turn out fine.

unfortunately, getting one is the only way to know for sure.

    good luck to you.

  2. ok if your getting a kitten what you want to do is when you have her, give your other cat the same attension as before because if you get a kitten it wont feel left out because it was not the queen bee before because it had all if its brothers and sisters but still give it 25% of the attension thats 25% of attension

  3. first step when bringing a new cat home is putting her in a room by herself/himself so the cat can slowly get used to the sounds and smells but that also allows the other cat to get used to the smell of the cat from a safe distant too. I normally would keep the cat in the room for a couple of days then slowly...slowly allow the cat to come out to investigate a room or two. Carefully, watch the interactions between the cats. The cats will figure out their rolls to each other eventually over time. There is always an alpha cat....it's the way cats are...so there may be some time for the two cats to get used to each other.

Also, in the beginning try not giving too much attention to one cat over the other.  Feed the cats separately and allow them to have different litter boxes.

  4. i just went though this with my cats. at first abby might not like it and she might hiss and swat at her. what i did was keep the new cat in a room for a few days and take her out for a little while at a time.. dont leave them alone together for the first few days. you will start to see a difference. Abby is just being territorial. after a while they will become best friends!

  5. When you first bring home this new cat your cat abby isn't going to like the new one at all. It's very normal for them to hiss and try to swat at each other. But cats are very curious. So while the new cat tries to explore the new surroundings your cat abby may be trying to trail the new one. It's usually alot easier to introduce them slowly to each other, and while doing so making sure there is supervision when doing so.

In time they will work out who is the dominant and who is the submissive but unfortunately you must let them do so on their own as forcing them to be together can make the situation even more stressful for the cats. In time and alot of patience from you they will learn to get along. When they do they'll be considered friends. It's unlikely that your cat would get depressed.

  6. She will get used 2 it

  7. Try introducing them slowly. Put them in seperate rooms and then switch them and let them smeel around. Then maybe through a screen. Take your time getting them used to each other. If you feel unsure about it consult your vet.
