  1. When I had AP History in my senior year, it was no different than most other history classes, except the papers you had to write.

It was much more involved with critical thinking, arguing different points in history.

For example, we set up a mock trial all about the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Every student had a part, from the judge, to the President, to witnesses.

In short; history class but much more analytical.

  2. it's not that bad

theres just a lot of minor details you

    have to remember :]

  3. The best advice I can give you about the AP exam is to work on your timed writing. You will have to do I think three essays in the test, and hopefully your teacher will have you do a bunch of practice ones like mine did. Be sure to include a LOT of facts in these. Instead of saying something like "... and then the Declaration was written" say "... and then on July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed." Be very specific and that will get you points. I could have done better on my own essays if I would have done that. Also, make sure you have a very clear thesis. My teacher said the best way to do this is to examine one side of the argument and then state what you're going to talk about, like this "Although it is often stated that Christopher Columbus caused the wiping out of many Native American tribes, several other factors are responsible for this, including blahblahblah". That's not a very good example, but you get the idea. Good luck! Study hard, make flashcards, READ A LOT, and don't give up!
