What to expect in bills?

I moved out once into a small apartment but it was just me and I was able to keep my bills really low... but Im moving out into a 3 bedroom house with my boyfriend, and it has central heating/air. I live in California, what do you expect would be an average utility bill?

Rates vary from state to state.

Ask the utility co. for an estimate and then ask them to put you on the budget plan.Then if you don't have one already, get an automatic thermostat with set backs so that you can adjust it when you go out.

You could also multiply the sq. ft. of the house with the a/c size (seer rating).

Of course, proper insulation helps.  So does closing the blinds to keep out the sun.
