I have a cockatiel and do not know what to feed him

I have read about pellets but cannot find any in the UK. I have been to two pet stores and both have said seeds are best for cockatiels.

They hasn't even heard of pellets.

At the moment, I feed him seeds with budgie vitamin stuff, it says on the packed to add two tea-spoons to his seeds.

Are pellets available in the UK. If so, where?

Also, after i bathe my cockatiel, two small red patches become visible, there is no blood coming out but it is very red, is this just blood feather shafts?

  1. Yes you are right, pellets are definitely the way to go.

The breeders here feed their birds pellets, so you can ask where they get theirs from: http://74.125.45.104/search?q=cache:ugel...

    Email them: enquiries@unitedparrotbreeders.co.uk

Sign up on PayPal and you can shop on online UK stores that have pellets: http://www.dietecuk.com/index.php?search...

Also, If you have a vet nearby you, you can call them to see if they stock bird pellets.

About the red patches. Can you tell us(or show) where these appear? Do they appear on both sides of the body in the same place? If so, then you're probably just seeing through his skin once he's wet.

I hope I've helped, good luck!
