What to get a little boy for his first birthday!!! HELP!!! asap?

Well totally spaced my friends sons first birthday and i need a gift idea fast!!!!!! But what do i get a little boy who is turning one??? PLEASE MOMMAS help me!

One of the best first birthday gift my son got was from my sister, she gave him this adorable cube toy that he absolutely loved to play with, I remember that out of all the gifts we got him he just couldn’t  stop playing with that cube. Later on she brought him a bunch of other toys she said were educational, and to be honest they do work my son already knows his ABC’s 123’s. She told me that she found it a this one website. the truth is everyone else is likely to buy him all the toys he could ever want and no doubt clothes too, the best present i ever did was for both my babies 1st birthday we got the biggest box we could find and bought some cheap party helium and filled the box with balloons, some helium and some air all different shapes sizes and colours, decorate the box too if you have time maybe paint a car or a ship on it and i swear you baby boy will have hours of fun and so will any other children (and adults) you might invite if you have a party, good luck hope this has helped xx

The best gift my sons have been given were memberships to the zoo and the children's museum.  Neither of these, at least in our town, are overly expensive, but give my children and I fun things to do together.  And lets face it, most children already have a million toys, so this is something nice that lasts all year.

Another alternative is just a day pass for mom and baby if a membership is too expensive.

How about some board books. They're in the children's area of the bookstore- usually by the baby/toddler area.  These are great fun because the pictures are very bright and colorful and they are durable as well.  My 6 yr. old still has her favorite board books.  Also, if you happen to get them one they already have they can easily be used at grandma's house or kept in the car.

The best gift I got for my son's first birthday was a tunnel they fold up to nothing.He loved it you can get them at toyrus or walmart I am sure.He rolled in it and rolled it by itself and even fell asleep in it.
