I need some ideas as to what to get a girlfriend. I am currently in Germany, and I am stumped! I got her a female teeshirt from the local soccer team, but I need something good. Please any help would be appreciated. What represents Germany?

  1. get her some "Kinder" or "Ritter Sport" chocolate. Nutella chocolate spread tastes really good. Gühl hair products are also an option.

  2. Well you want to know what I did for my former German GF, Jule?

First I bought her a beautiful platinum chain and pendant with a ruby and then I took her back to her childhood town of Barthe on the Baltic sea where we spent a week there visiting her old friends, camping, and having fun.

I also got her a shoulder tattoo as well that she wanted.

She told me it was the best birthday gift any one had ever given her, and not the pendant, the thought fullness of taking her back to her childhood home.

So try and do something that will be meaning full to her!

The great thing was how we met over Kleiner Feigling!! I also bought her those for the symbolic reasons.

  3. Hey! It's completely racist to say something

like sausage and beer! Not all Germans eat

Wurst (sausage) and drink Beer! So, don't

bring her either, or if you have to then bring her

a REAL Berlin specialty, which was INVENTED

    here!!

Currywurst. Only, I guess, the Wurst will go bad

    on your way back home.

    Other suggestions:

*Tees and basics like Cups, Bags, etc. So just

look for some Germany-fanshop and buy a bag

(girls love bags : D) or another nice tee or a cup

    or something similar.

*Where in Germany are you? Just get something

traditional from the region you are in. If you're in

Berlin then find the Kranzler Eck at the KuDamm

and look for a BERLIN shop, there's one beside

the Mango there. Also there's some good BERLIN

shops in the Europacenter next to the Kaiser

    Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche (Memorialchurch).

    Have Fun & Good Luck.

*Edit* It's really funny reading what others say about

Germany: like, the mustard is good or Milka is German

(which I never realised, it was just there!) or my

    daughter loves Berlin Bags...

    Well, it's really cool! =)

  4. Go to Dr Mullers they should have something

  5. If you  are checking a bag, mustard is also good. You can find good german mustard in tubes in the grocery store.

  6. get her a shirt saying"Everybody loves a german Girl"

No but the Milka chocolate is really good delicious, get her that.

  7. Yes Chocolate like Milka..my friend is just here from America and she buys loads of 'Milka' as a gift for all her friends and workmates. A bag with 'Berlin' written on it would also be a good present...my daughter is 19 and she likes that!

  8. Nice handmade portraits or paintings made from photos are always a good gift idea. You can find more such ideas and themes at http://www.paintyourlife.com

They make all types of personalized and unique portraits on oil, pencil, charcoal or on canvas.

This company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. In case you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.c...

  9. German sausage and Beer.

  10. Not sure..I was going to suggest get her a sweater with the name of the city where you are staying on it...Just have a look in the curio or souvenir shops...Tough choice I moved from Germany to Canada... I don't really miss a lot of the stuff from Germany...if you were in Switzerland I would say a coockoo clock... maybe get a set of small dolls in original German costume..if you are in the black forest area...every souvenir shop has special dolls ...they are just small most of them..just a souvenir...you get them in every country.. in the Netherlands they wear the wooden shoes and the Dutch traditional caps..

same as you get indian dolls in Canada or Anne of Green Gables....or some writing material...paper that has some pictures of a German town on it...that may be useful...

    If she smokes an ashtray...

Something a little figurine if you are in the Rhineland area that is handmade in Germany or a book about German legends which you can find in English...about the Lorelei or about the Niebelungen...the Siegfried saga....that would be something...x*x

    Good luck xx
