Today is my mom's 42nd birthday. I'm clueless as to what to get her. Any ideas?

I though about getting her a gift from my 17 month old daughter, but what does a 17 month old get her grandma for her birthday?

  1. You could get a picture of your daughter and put it in a nice frame that says Happy Birthday Grandma or something like that.

  2. Go buy a picture frame from the craft section at you local walmart, and let your daughter color in it, then put a picture of them two in it.  Your mother will love it!

  3. My mom is getting to the age where she doesn't really want knick-knack type things around the house anymore.  Sometimes I have made her a batch of her favorite cookies, and more recently I get her gift cards.  She was always a SAHM when I was younger, but she works in an office full time now and loves to go shopping for new clothes, shoes, accessories, etc.  I get her a gift card for a store I know she likes to shop at.  Or sometimes I get her a nice necklace.  I have a daughter also, so for my mom's 50th birthday I got her a nice gold necklace with a heart that said "Grandma" in it.  All her life she has gotten 'Mom' things, so I thought that would be different, and you know how proud Grandma's always are!  lol  I also like the picture frame idea.

  4. some families look at the price tag, but i think that any grandmother worth her salt would love a hand-made birthday card from her grand-daughter.

as for what you can get her...well, if you're totally stumped, there's always gift cards.  bookstores, malls, theatres... it lets her get what she wants.

and of course money always fits and its always the right color, albeit a little impersonal...
