You are supposed to get a sweet and sappy meaningful gift for the wedding present. We dont have much money after the wedding in the first place, but the wedding will be paid for by the day it is done! So what do you suggest as a grooms-gift?

PLEASE don't tell me "pick something sweet" or such non-sense. I am looking for you to tell me specific items!

BTW~ I did the keychain thing last anniversary.

HELP!!! Wedding in 3 weeks and I DONT want to get him tickets to the Devil Rays!

  1. I had a bracelet custom made for my husband.  Very manly two tone links...very nice.  He still wears it on special occassions.

You know him best,  think of something personal that will endure through the years.

  2. Get him a new rifle. Men don't like sappy sweet stuff. They (we) like things we can use. If a new gun is too far out of the budget, get him a new pocket knife or a wallet. If you "write your vows on parchment" he's just gonna pretend he likes it and then laugh about it to his friends. wouldn't you rather him be bragging to his friends about his new rifle?

If you are from up north or the west coast this may not work. I've heard northern boys are a little more sensitive and feminine.

Good luck! (not just on your gift but on the marriage as a whole)

  3. You could go for something that he could wear on the wedding day, like special cufflinks.

  4. you could get some professional photos done and put them into an album - I mean "how to look good naked" style photos! ;o)

  5. We aren't doing gifts, but I'm thinking of changing that so I can get him a pocketwatch. However he has a waistcoat he wears, so it's very suitable for him.

  6. you can get a gift certificate to a spa for a massage or something, or make a cd with your favorite songs on them. that's all I got, hope it helped some.

  7. We were tight on money as well - so we passed on the gifts to eachother.  We simply wrote each other a card explaining our feelings for one enother.

Had I been able to affored to buy him something these are the things I considered:  a watch, sporting event tickets, chain necklace, or maybe a digital photo frame (so he can take it to work).

I really also wanted to get him this (they come in a number of different teams - if your hubby to be is a sports nut).

    Good Luck!

  8. Sappy sweet? Write out your vows on a scroll of parchment and have them tied with a ribbon that matches with your decor. Include a voucher to frame them. This is extremely meaningful (you already put the thought into it). It's fairly inexpensive and everlasting.

Best wishes for an excellent wedding and wonderful married life!

  9. We didn't do the whole gift thing because of how much money we already spent but some things I was considering getting him were a briefcase for work, football tickets, xbox 360, engraved money clip (which I did get him after and he loves it), or an engraved business card holder for his desk at work.
