What to give for a birthday present...?

I have this friend that i really dont know and i want to get him a good birthday present. I dont really know anything about him so what do i get him. Im 17 years old and so is he.

Not to repeat anything, but a gift certificate to the record store is perfect. Or if you know anything about him a subscription to a magazine that he would enjoy - (my son always loved getting subscriptions to guitar or Rolling Stone, but that's only because he is the world's best bass player!) (and most famous!)

You might get him a gift certificate to a nice restaurant. You didn't say how much you would be spending. A nice fruit basket would be good, everyone likes fruit. Tickets to a show or theater. Call his mom and ask her what he likes. It could be he likes to read and you could get him a best seller. If he's into electronics, a gift certificate to an electronics store. I hope this helps.
