I have a non-profit health education group for teens, we meet 2x a month and we provide education on various topics such as s*x,drugs, nutrition, etc. Well, the organization that gave us our grant to conduct the program are having a celebration for all the organizations. We have a display table, what should I have out- giveaways, candy, raffles?? My budget is extremely, extremely tight. So any suggestions as far as what we should have out at the display table would be wonderful!!! thanks

  1. The organization that gave you your grant, would they be willing to offer any "freebies", such as items with their company name on it? If not, there is always the dollar tree and knick knacks, picture frames, and anything else you think would be appropriate...including candy. You could raffle those things off in order to raise funds. You might even consider making baked goods, wreaths, baskets, or whatever you can think up. You know what these kids are into, so get and do what you think they would be most interested in. Good luck!

  2. PAMPHLETS ON s*x, DRUGS, VIOLENCE& PROPER DIET. YOU COULD MAKE THEM ON YOUR COMPUTER AND FIND THE CHEAPIST COPY PLACE OR ON YOUR PRINTER.MAYBE YOU COULD CONVINCE VARIOUS STORES TO CONTRIBUTE ITEMS WITH THE STORE NAME ON THEM. GOOD LUCK

  3. framed photos of teens you have helped along with a story written

  4. If your budget is tight, don't do anything that makes it seems like you have money--like giving away stuff. You want people to give you more, not seem like you don't need it.

Pictures of kids, samples of any materials you give the kids would be good. Best would be a video of a meeting or someone telling how your group helped them. A PowerPoint of statistics with pictures---this many pounds lost, fewer pregnancies, drop in drug usage (if you have numbers about your impact) would be good. If you don't have numbers on impact, use numbers on inputs--how many hours of sessions, how many kids, a nice pie chart of the topics--bright colors.

It doesn't take money to have something bright to show.

Ask a store to let you borrow a computer, DVD player to show this. Put "Player courtesy of Geek Electronics" on it and be sure to take it back promptly.

  5. ahah

  6. i would go to local businesses and tell them about your what you are doing.  See if they will donate items and then put them on the table for a silent auction to continue your good work

  7. Um, try my source.  It might help.  I'm not sure.  I hope so.  Yea.

  8. I would go to libraries, colleges, and other agencies and get free fliers to put on your table. Maybe you could make some things on the computer, like magnets with your group name or bookmarks. You can find pictures to decorate your table on the internet too-like the food pyramid, etc.

  9. something that would be nice would be to have pictures of the kids themselves doing an activity that shows they are learning what you are teaching and how the grant money is being spent
