  1. Hello,

Mmmmm halloumi, one of my favourite ever cheeses.

1)Fry quickly in hot oil in a mix of lemon juice and finely shredded chilli.

    2) Serve with roasted red peppers/capsicum from a jar (the sweetness of the peppers offsets the saltyness of the cheese).

    3) Slice-up and aubergine / eggplant into slices lengthways brush with a little oil and bake in a hot oven until a little brown. Wrap aroud chunks of halloumi and fry in a oil till browed. Serve with chopped mint and lemon wedges for squeezing.

  2. take sliced ham, wrap chunks of halloumi. dip in egg then breacrumbs or filo pastry and bake in medium temp oven until golden.

  3. My Cypriot friend tosses halloumi with fresh organic pasta, olive oil, tomatoes, s+p.  You can also have it grilled or pan seared wih your breakfast toast and garden salad.

Halloumi is very fattening so I would cut back on dairy and animal products when you do have it.

  4. it goes great with lamb as it hold it's shape and flavour, it use it with lamb dish i have on my menu and it works a treat

  5. chickpea salad, with roasted aubergine and courgette, and a bit of cumin perhaps, or chilli powder, plus a light salad dressing.

  6. My parents live in Cyprus and I love halloumi cheese. It is excellent when served with salad, houmus and pitta bread.

  7. I just serve it hot on a plate with tomatoes, basil and olive oil.

      1 large courgette

      1 small onion

      8 bay leaves

      Lemon wedges (to garnish)

      150g (5oz) mixed salad leaves

Drizzle salad dressing on top.

Breast of Chicken Stuffed With Keses Halloumi

    Method

    1. Flatten the breast of chicken and season.

    2. Fill up the center of the chicken with Keses halloumi.

    3. Roll and wrap it with foil paper and bake in oven for 20 minutes at 180oC

    Hope this helps!

  9. pan fry it and add lime juice and pepper corns, its very nice

  10. Halloumi grates quite well so you could have it on top of a salad, in a jacket potatoe. Grill it in slices and have it with a wam salad, with a nice dressing on top. If you have any naan or pitta breads around you could make a pizza ot of it. Just spread some tomatoe puree or bolognese sauce out a jar onto the bread, add what you like and put the halloumi on top. You need to watch how much of the cheese you're having though, because halloumi is actually quite fattening itself...unless you've got the low fat stuff....and it's very high in salt.

  11. Uhm, then just plain toast or garlic toast.

Or some yummy olive and wine.

    Mmmmm

    Or a nice salad.
