  1. I agree with the other contributor, it really can be a waste of time. The last school I worked, I found it to be a very useful time where we went over important & relevant information and how it applies to the classroom. We were instituting a school wide writing program and reading program--we went over a lot of training in that one hour once a month...In my current school--I find it hard to stay awake because nothing is relevant AND it is for 90 minutes each week! When some of the teachers have shared that with the principal--she nods and agrees, puts a lot of effort into the next session (and I admire her for that)...but it doesn't get any better!


  2. that's kinda of a general question. FACULTY DEVELOPMENT is nothing more than INSERVICE. Trying to 'Pep up the troops'. Most of this applies to the "regular teachers" and really have nothing to do with 'speciality teachers' *ie music, art, pe, sped*. Most of it is a chronic waste of time and resources.
