What do i look for as a beginner hoping to use the BMX's on a halfpipe? Weight etc.

  3. You want to get a bike under 30 pounds. A straight cable brake and a chromoly frame are signs of a quality bike. Many people are going to try to tell you that the smaller the sprocket the better, but that is not true at all. I reccomend finding a 36 tooth bike to a 28 tooth sprocket bike. Specialized makes great bmx freestyles. Haro sucks. Dont get one.  Remember that the rest of your life.

Get a decent cromo frame thats got good reviews, a decent wheelset and a set of pegs. a good frame will be strogn and light. yeah its good to have a light frame, but its even better to have a light one that wont brake if you go off a curb on it. the frame is the most important bit as it weighs the most and everything else is built onto it.
